for hostels
Sell every bed in the dorm on its own.
Bed-level inventory, per bed pricing and private rooms in the same system, so two guests can book two beds online without a phone call.

Most systems treat a dorm as one room.
If a six-bed dorm is one room with a capacity of six, selling one bed sells the room. The usual workaround is six fake rooms, which breaks when you want to price the dorm as a dorm, move someone between beds, or see who's sleeping there tonight.
what you get
Book-ah for hostels
Every bed is its own inventory
A six-bed dorm is six units. Selling bed four leaves five available, and the calendar shows which five.
Per bed and per person pricing
Beds priced per bed, private rooms priced per room, and per person rates where you want them, all in one property.
Private rooms alongside the dorms
Dorm beds and private rooms share one system, one calendar and one booking website.
Channels that understand beds
Hostelworld and the agents sync against the real bed count, so the last bed sells exactly once.

Running a hostels on this
Can two guests book different beds in the same dorm at once?
Yes. They're two separate units, so the bookings don't collide. If both go for the last bed, the database accepts the first and refuses the second, so there's nothing to sort out at check-in.
Can I move a guest to a different bed?
Yes, without rebuilding the booking. The guest moves to the new bed and the old one frees up, the same way a room move works in a hotel.
